What we collect through this website, why, and what we do with it.

This policy covers this website — ewimplants.com — and information you send us through it. It is operated by Eastern Washington Implants and Periodontics ("we", "us"), with offices in Kennewick, Yakima and Walla Walla, Washington.
This is not our HIPAA notice. The way we handle your medical records as a patient is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is a separate document given to you at your first appointment and available at any of our offices on request. If the two documents ever conflict about your health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in the appointment request or referral form, we collect what you type: your name, phone number, email address, preferred office, the reason for your enquiry, and anything you write in the message box.
We ask you not to send detailed medical history, insurance numbers, images or records through the website forms. Those are ordinary web forms, not a secure medical portal. Once we speak, we'll take that information through a secure channel.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours may record standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you looked at, how you arrived, and how long you stayed. This is used to understand how the site is being used and to make it work better.
Cookies and analytics
We may use analytics services, such as Google Analytics, and call-tracking software that displays a different phone number to different visitors so we can tell which marketing is working. These set cookies in your browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work. You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
What we do with it
- Contact you about your enquiry or appointment
- Answer questions and provide the care you've asked about
- Communicate with your referring dentist about your treatment
- Improve the website and understand which pages are useful
- Meet our legal, professional and regulatory obligations
What we don't do with it
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to marketing companies to use for their own purposes.
Who we share it with
Only where it's necessary:
- Service providers who run things on our behalf — website hosting, form delivery, analytics, phone systems — and only to the extent they need it to provide that service
- Your referring dentist or other treating clinicians, as part of coordinating your care
- Insurers, where you've asked us to bill them
- Authorities, where the law requires it
Third-party content on this site
Some pages embed content from other companies: patient videos hosted by Vimeo, and maps provided by Google. When those load, the provider may set its own cookies and see your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries are kept as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the contact. If you become a patient, your clinical records are retained for the period required by Washington State law and our professional obligations.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection, and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — which is the reason we ask you to keep sensitive detail out of the web forms.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information through it from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete website enquiry data, or ask us to stop contacting you. Patients also have rights over their medical records as set out in our Notice of Privacy Practices. Call any office and we'll help.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
