Dr. Abdullah Alkanan is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon, and the founder of Eastern Washington Implants and Periodontics.
He earned his dental degree at the University of Manchester in England in 2010 and went on to membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then completed his specialty certificate and master's degree in periodontics at the University of Louisville, one of the top-ranked programs in the country, training under Dr. Henry Greenwell, a leading figure in bone and gum regeneration. His residency covered the most complex case types: advanced bone and soft tissue grafting, microsurgery, prosthetics, anesthesia and sedation. He holds the highest credential in his specialty, Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and has completed advanced training in LANAP laser gum treatment and in-office IV sedation.
Dr. Alkanan has published in the field and lectured to dentists in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. He continues to train each year with the world's leading surgeons in regeneration, and brings that back to Eastern Washington so patients here get the same options they would find in a major city.
His philosophy is simple: conservative planning, honest advice, and no corners cut. He is a strong believer in bone-preserving techniques that protect the natural shape of your face after tooth loss, not just the smile.
Dr. Alkanan lives in the Tri-Cities with his wife and three children. He treats every patient the way he would want his own family treated.
