Tell us how to reach you. We'll call to find a time.

No referral needed. If you'd rather talk now, call 509-783-5722, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm.

Please keep it brief. A name, a phone number and a sentence about the tooth is plenty. Please don't include medical history, insurance numbers or photos. This is an ordinary website form, not a secure medical portal, and we'll take those details safely when we speak.

In her words

Angela put this off for years because she was afraid.

She was referred to us by her own dentist at 70, needing a tooth removed and an implant to replace it. She had sedation, and she came back for the rest.

Angela is a real patient of Dr. Alkanan and gave permission to share her story. Every mouth is different, and your plan will be based on your own exam.

Specialist implant care in Walla Walla

Implants here are placed by Dr. Abdullah Alkanan and Dr. Muhammad Saleh, both periodontists, the dental specialists trained in the gum and bone an implant has to live in. Dr. Alkanan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

An implant is only as good as the bone and gum around it. That is the part a periodontist is trained to assess, build and protect.

What happens at your free consultation

It's free, and it's a conversation and a scan, not a sales pitch. We look at the gap or the failing tooth, check the bone and gum, and plan the implant on a 3D scan. You leave with a written plan that spells out what's included, so there are no surprises later. If you'd like to understand what drives the cost first, we've written that up plainly.

The 3D CBCT scan and digital intraoral scan are both here in Walla Walla, so your consultation, scan and planning happen in one visit without a trip to the Tri-Cities.

Does it hurt?

Placing an implant is usually easier than the extraction that came before it. You're fully numb, so you feel pressure, not pain, and most people describe a few days of soreness managed with ibuprofen. If nerves are what's kept you away, ask about IV sedation.

How long does it take?

The surgery takes 45 minutes to an hour and a half for a single implant, and you go home the same day. The bone then needs three to four months to bond to the implant before your dentist places the crown. Sometimes the implant can go in the same day the tooth comes out, which saves months. Your exam tells us whether that's safe for you.

Insurance and payment

Our Walla Walla office is in network with Delta Dental. Other plans are welcome and we'll file the claim for you as an out of network provider. Monthly payment plans are available. See insurance and financing.

Two periodontists. One plan.

Complex cases get two specialist opinions before anything is decided.

Board certification is the highest credential in periodontics, and both of our doctors hold it. Complex cases here are reviewed by both: the surgeon who will do the work, and the specialist who helped write the research it rests on. A second opinion is built in, with no extra step for you.

Cost & financing

What it costs, and how people pay for it.

We can't put a real number on a webpage, because the honest answer depends on what your exam and 3D scan show. What we can promise is that you'll get a written treatment plan with an exact figure on it before you commit to anything. No surprises added later.

Most patients have some insurance coverage, and we'll check yours and tell you what it will and won't pay. For the balance, we work with three financing companies so you can spread the cost over time — many patients qualify for plans with no interest if paid within the promotional period.

  • CareCredit
  • Proceed Finance
  • LendingClub

Ask us at your consultation and we'll walk you through the options and the monthly numbers.
